The EU Ecolabel or Euroflower (named after the logo with the flower and the stars) is the official eco-label recognised by all countries of the European Union as well as Norway, Liechtenstein and Iceland. It reveals which products are better for the environment without sacrificing quality. The label was introduced in 1992.

The EU Ecolabel is reliable and offers security that is why all products and services with the “Euroflower” are checked by independent institutions for compliance with the strict environmental criteria. One of the strong points of the EU Ecolabel is that it considers the entire life cycle of a product.

For each product group, the phase in which the environmental impact is greatest is checked. Criteria are established for reducing these impacts. The environmental criteria are defined in such a way that only 10 to 20% of the products on the market can be awarded. This means that only the most environmentally friendly suppliers can get it. In order to ensure the quality of the label and to respond to the latest innovations, the criteria are regularly revised.
